Located in Assisi, this church was constructed from 1257-1265 in memory of Saint Clare. The church contains the body of Saint Clare as well as the crucifix which spoke to Saint Francis and started him on his life of piety. Adjoining the church is a convent of the Poor Clares, a cloistered order of women religious founded by Saint Clare.
