St. Louis Marie Grignion of Montfort (1673-1716) is most noted for his devotion to the Blessed Mother. His most famous book, "True Devotion to Mary", outlines a Marian spirituality that has become very popular. This photo shows his tomb in the church at Ste. Laurent-sur-Sevre. St. Louis founded "the Company of Mary", a missionary society of priests and brothers (now known as the Montfortians) and the Daughters of Wisdom, a religious order of women focused on hospital work and teaching in schools. The tomb of Sister Marie Louise Trichet is alongside St. Louis' tomb. Sister Marie Louise was the first Mother General of the Daughters of Wisdom. She died at the same day, the same hour, in the same month as St. Louis but 43 years later (1759).
