This town (Santa Maria Degli Angeli) is a suburb of Assisi and its main attraction is the very large basilica constructed between 1569 and 1679. This photo shows the front facade of the basilica. It has a large dome and the basilica encloses the "Portiuncula", the little wayside chapel that was reconstructed by St. Francis of Assisi.
