St. Margaret Mary Alacoque

This shows the tomb of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque (1647-1690). She entered the convent of the Visitation Order at Paray-le-Monial in 1671. Between 1673 and 1675 she had four visions of Christ in which He urged her to promote devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, which she did during the remainder of her life. Her feast day is October 16th. The story of these visions and her convent life is contained in her autobiography, simply entitled "The Autobiography of (Saint) Margaret Mary".
