Chapel of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, Rue de Bac, Paris

This chapel, in the convent of the Sisters of Charity at their motherhouse on the Rue de Bac in Paris, is the site of several apparitions of the Blessed Mother to Saint Catherine Laboure, one of the sisters living in the convent in the 1800's. It was in this chapel that Mary gave Saint Catherine the design for a medal that Mary wished to be struck and distributed. That medal has become known as "the Miraculous Medal" because of the many physical cures and spiritual conversions that have occurred to those who wear the medal. The incorrupt body of Saint Catherine is buried in this chapel.
