A close-up photo showing a Greek Orthodox icon of the Crucifixion. This icon is located above Golgotha, the site of the Crucifixion, in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. In 325 A.D., Bishop Mecarius, at the direction of the Emperor Constantine, searched for and located both the Tomb of Christ and Golgotha. The Emperor built the Church of the Holy Sepulchre to enclose both of these sites.
