"Dominus flevit" is Latin for "the Lord wept". This Franciscan church is built on the Mount of Olives overlooking Jerusalem and commemorates the Gospel passage of Christ weeping over the coming destruction of Jerusalem. The church is built in the shape of a tear drop.
