Sea of Galilee

A view of the Sea of Galilee (also called the Lake Genesareth) looking eastward toward the Golan heights. Located 700 feet below sea level, the Sea is about 14 miles long and 7 miles wide at its widest point. The Sea was the scene of many incidents in the Bible including the calming of the sea (Matt. 8:26), Jesus walking on the water (Matt. 14:22), and the large catch of fish.
