A photo showing the inside of the church in the monastery. The church is dedicated to Our Lady of Mount Carmel and contains the cave of Elijah under the main altar of the church. The monastery is the headquarters of the Carmelite Order, which dates from 1212. A famous statue, "Our Lady of Mount Carmel", is also inside the church. It was carved in 1836 by Caraventa, a sculptor from Genoa.
